Anarchist Communists Meanjin

We are a Brisbane-based anarchist-communist political organisation with a shared vision of a new world—an anarchist-communist world—in which everyone has communal control over their workplaces, neighbourhoods, and land. A society based on people's needs rather than profits, free of repressive social structures like sexism and racism. Only by destroying capitalism—a system that brutally condemns us to exploitation, housing insecurity, war, and environmental devastation—can we create such a world.

Queensland Socialists

Queensland desperately needs a political force that stands up to the powerful and stands with ordinary people who are fighting back. Queensland governments have sided with big business while attacking workers’ living standards. Under the Crisafulli LNP government public sector workers, including nurses and teachers, have faced real wage cuts through below-inflation pay offers, staffing crises, and a government that denounces workers for fighting back and striking. That's why we’re taking inspiration from the Victorian Socialists and building a political force in this state that puts people before profit and fights for the rights of workers and the oppressed.

SE QLD IWW

As members of the IWW, we organize to build power. It’s true that we organize to win immediate gains to improve our lives, but we also work to shift the balance of power. Away from employers and towards ourselves, as workers. We use direct action to win demands and to defend ourselves from retaliation. This has always been the best way to do it, but recent events have made it more clear that we can’t count on government agencies to do it for us. Organizing begins with growing a small group one by one, under the radar, in one workplace. Together we’re stronger than isolated individuals. As we grow further, we can start to take action, first in small ways. As we grow, build power, and gain confidence, we can choose larger and larger goals.
